And who are we:
Philippa Ivory; I started working with computers in 1984, in Melbourne, Australia. I worked for Computer Power, Computer People; as Assistant Manager, Computer Appointments and then came home to NZ.
From there I have spent the last 14 years working with a number of companies choosing, installing, setting up and testing, hardware and software for them and their subsidiaries. I have worked with most kinds of mainframe and PC networks. I have used Windows and associated packages extensively and now work with small companies setting up appropriate business computing.
This includes everything from setting up General Ledger charts, to coding Accounts Payable and Receivables, establishing efficient stock control mechanisms, writing and designing web sites, newspaper advertising, scripts for radio advertisements, flyers, mail outs and marketing promos. Anything that will help the company to get the best possible use from their PC, software, and create a successful business profile. So not only can I design your web site I can understand your whole business process, and how to maximize your potential.
Helen Budd: Helen has recently presented her MA Art and Design thesis, "The Virtual and the Actual: Representation and the Object " (2000 A.U.T) and is currently awaiting her marks. The MA follows on from a Diploma in Fine Arts (Hons.) Otago which Helen completed in 1990. She then worked as Head of Exhibitions at Otago Museum for the next seven years before moving North for the sun, and to be closer to family.
Helen's thesis took her into the Internet to take a close look at Internet shopping, how design helps sales and how objects can be effectively represented in a digital medium. Her market research into the buying patterns of Internet shopping and her work regarding images and their representation is considered to be ground breaking work. Coming from both an artist's perspective and as a museum manager Helen is able to use her design and computer knowledge to assist businesses in reaching their customers effectively without buying into the whole "computer age". In other words she can tell you what your realistic expectations should be regarding spending your company money on the Internet.
Our aim is to assist real people into the great world of the Internet, to allow them to join the computer age without spending vast sums and with the most effect. In other words we aim to get you " More Bang for your Buck". And we will not baffle you with science either.
